e-Learning Templates

If you’re developing eLearning on your own with minimal help from a graphics team, you might want to check out e-Learning Templates.com.

Put together by two guys who call themselves “The eLearning Brothers”, the site offers PPT templates you can use in your Articulate courses, along with complete course style kits to Flash based eLearning games and quizzes.

“Each template is fully customizable in Flash (we give you the .fla Flash source file). Made to work within most rapid elearning software (Articulate Presenter, Adobe Captivate, Rapid Intake, Adobe Presenter, PowerPoint and more).”

Sounds like a good resource for freelancers and eLearning designers working in small departments or as a one-person show.

If you try it out, leave a comment here and let us know what you think.

Hi Cammy

Their stuff looks interesting, but I've refrained from mentioning them anywhere because it appears they don't respect copyrights -- they sell Flash games that use famous trademarks, and I'm fairly certain they don't have permission to do so. Doesn't feel very trustworthy to me.

Cammy, Thanks for mentioning our products on your blog. We continue to receive amazing feedback from customers. Most of them "non-flash" users who love how simple and easy the templates are to use.

We're always open to suggestions for new templates/games also. So if you, or anyone else, has any ideas...shoot them over to us.

We have also recently been researching and updating some of the template names to better respect potential copyright infringements.

Thank you again and Happy eLearning!

I'd go with what Pipwerks said. Doesn't look trustworthy and nor particularly professional - grammar errors certainly don't help their cause.

I'd use this site as an example of how not to set up en effective web based business to be honest.

Good luck to them, they'll need it.

Too bad that I can't send Surge an email and ask a few questions. Oh well, maybe next time he'll leave his email address.

Anyway, just to follow-up on a few of his comments:

Grammar errors - yep, we're are much better at designing flash than we are at spelling and grammar. Sorry. However what we are really selling are flash templates that look great...so please forgive our grammar errors.

Looking trustworthy - hummm...not sure what we need to change to look trustworthy but all of our transactions run through PayPal and Google so they are secure.

Example of how not to set up an effective business - Well, I'm not sure what to say except that the site has been running for well over a year and setting sales records every month. Seems pretty effective to me.

Thanks for wishing us good luck, everyone needs it. We've been having fun doing what we love and creating eLearning templates. Hope everyone has a chance to check them out!
